»  We applied the 2019-2020 minimum earnings requirement for Tier 1 elected and appointed officials under the Minimum Earnings Requirements for Elected and Appointed Officials (click here) topic under the Membership section and the Eligibility and Certification subsection.

»  We clarified the substantial equivalency guidelines for long-term disability contracts under the Disability Benefits section and the Substantial Equivalency Guidelines subsection.

»  The maximum earnings for post-retirees returning to work between 60 days and one year have been updated under the Post-Retirement Employment (click here) section.

»  We amended the Exchange Employees (click here) topic under the Ineligibility for Retirement Coverage subsection and Membership section based on Board Resolution 2019-02.

 

2nd quarter

»  We amended the Eligibility Requirements for Higher Education Participating Employers (click here) topic under the Eligibility and Certification subsection and Membership section based on Board Resolution 2019-03.

»  We amended the Exempting (click here) subsection under the Membership section based on Board Resolution 2019-04.

 

3^rd quarter

»  We clarified that the amortization portion of the contributions paid for Tier 2 exempt employees under the Defined Contribution Plan is not considered part of the exempt employee’s 401(k) benefit (see the Exempting (click here) subsection under the Membership section).

»  We updated the Post-Retired Employment (click here) section with information on reporting post-retired independent contractors.

 

4^th quarter

»  We removed the requirement for members to complete the form Higher Education Election to Continue Participation in Utah Public Employees’ Retirement Systems (MEMS-51A) under the Eligibility Requirements for Higher Education Participating Employers (click here) topic of the Membership section, Eligibility and Certification subsection.
