» If you haven’t already created a myURS account, do so right away. This allows you to monitor your balances and information and prevents fraudsters from creating an account in your name. (Video: How Do I Create a myURS Account?)
» Log in to myURS frequently to double-check that everything’s in order. For example, make sure we always have your correct, current email address so you’ll get notifications of transactions and changes.
» Do not share your myURS account information, including username, password, and security question answers. Change your password regularly and do not use easily obtained information (e.g., hometown, name of child, date of birth, etc.). Protect your URS Member Number like you would your Social Security number.
» For extra protection, it's better to log in each individual time you access myURS and not to store user IDs and passwords in your browser.
» Maintain accurate and up-to-date contact information to ensure you receive prompt notification of any changes to your account. (Video: How Do I Update My Contact Information?)
» URS will never email you a link directly to your myURS login. For your protection, we encourage you to go to www.urs.org to log in. Do not enter any personal URS information into any webpage that you loaded by following an email link. URS will never request personal information via email.
» Look out for suspicious emails or “phishing” correspondence, which may include: urgent or threatening language, poor grammar, misspelling, or requests for personal information. Do not click on attachments or links from unknown sources.
» Pay attention to any email or mail you get from URS. Let us know right away if you get notice about a transaction you didn’t authorize.
